I'm appreciated

I have been neglecting updating this week.

The weather is so beautiful and with only two weeks left of class, I feel the need to live every moment to the fullest (that means spending a lot of time with my friends that I won't see for over 12 weeks!)

Last week the women of CRU were honored at Women's Appreciation Night, the men of CRU picked us up, served us supper (homemade pizza even!), and put on a variety show for us. It was a night full of fun!

This gorgeous day, we as women are going to reciprocate the appreciation, with Male Appreciation Night, I cannot write what we are going to do, because it is a secret. So, next week there may be some more information.

Yesterday it was 80 degrees, oh MN, you are so funny, and much enjoyed by me!

Alright, I am continually encouraged by everyone's outpouring of support for project this summer. The two women that are in the picture with me are also going to be going on projects this summer. All three of us to very different locations, New Jersey, North Dakota, and South Carolina, but I am excited to to come together in the Fall and see just what the Lord will do with the summers that we dedicate to him!

Hello all from a GORGEOUS day here at the MN plains of Mankato! The sun is shining and it is sixty some degrees! OH SO BEAUTIFUL!

I have only 9 days of class left, that is beyond crazy! That means before I know

 it, I will be packing up my room and heading home! 

I really enjoyed my Easter weekend, attending a school with no religious attachments means no days off, but I have no classes on Friday, so was able to be home. I slept a LOT, but also spent time with my mom and grandpa who came to visit. I even had time to bake my first pie!

This week so far has been hectic, but I am enjoying planning MAN (Male Appreciation Night). The women of CRU plan a night to thank the men for their service in our ministry. It's a little over a week away! Tomorrow night I'll be attending my first ever Women's appreciation night, who knows what will be in store for that!

Today in my quiet time, I read 1 Corinthians 1:27-29:

"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. "

I am thankful that he did that, because I know that I am not wise, and I am weak and I am most definitely NOT of noble birth. I have no claim other than a heart the loves Jesus! I thank him for wanting to use me!

I thought I would give an update about support raising to say that the Lord has provided more than enough money for me to go this summer! I'm so grateful and humbled by the support and outpourings that I have received!  Only 40 some days until my feet will touch New Jersey soil!

Hopefully, we'll have flowers soon!!! :)

Not even sure anyone reads this

I have no idea if anyone even reads this, but this is BLOG monday!

-I didn't want to go to class this morning at 8am....but I did (the life of a college student)

-I finished my introduction video for Ocean City

-I was asked to play flute for CRU next week(we'll see if I even remember how)

-Went out sharing with my a girl in my discipleship group

-Giggled (this is a part of my everyday and fits well with my favorite quote "A giggle a day, keeps the glums away!)

-Got like 10 phone calls (I normally get like one and so uh that was bizarre and they all came at the same time)

-Sang in German Class.....

That is a day in the life of a college student!

The following video is the proof that my friends think I am old, I don't know what they would say I wear that is "old lady like" but apparently i'm like 80 so, whatever. I think ever 80 year old should go back to college....

I really like this picture.

In light of a birthday picture(not mine, but a friends), I thought I would share with you the reasons that I am like an old lady. My friends constantly reiterate this fact to me, so I thought that I would let you in on the reasons why I am an old lady:

1) I drink and LOVE cranberry juice

(I don't think this is old lady like but apparently 20 year olds are not supposed to drink cranberry juice, whatever, i like it!)

2) My Wii fitness age is 79

(admittedly old lady!)

3) I tell grandma jokes

(I do, and I think they're funny and non-offensive, seriously, everyone laughs when their grandma tells a joke!)

I know that there is a fourth reason, but I can't remember it, must be my old ladyness coming out. Other reasons that I'm thinking of that I could be old, I like tea and I like to knit and now that I think about it that was the fourth reason

4) I can and do and like to knit

Spring +Winter=Spinter?

So, I forgot that I lived in MN when I wrote the last BLOG, it actually has become winterish again, and I haven't ventured out in capris and a only a track jacket since that day. I realized also that this isn't a Monday! I had a freak out/busy Monday! I attended a women's retreat last weekend and while it was so needed and just amazing the see the Lord at work, reality hit me kind of hard when I came back, oh the reality of homework! My homework can't always be rushed, and sometimes I pretend like it can, and I can skim German, but I really can't. It still takes me a lot of concentration to read in a foreign language.

So, time to update you all on the summer project :)

Praises: the support that has overwhelmed me. Thanks to all who have given! You don't know how much the Lord has used you as a blessing in my life!

Requests:

The Lord would my heart's purest and deepest desire.

He would prepare me for the mission that I am going to have in Ocean City!

A job for when I get there!

Finish well in Mankato (only 20 some days of school left, but it's so important that I finish well with my Bible Study women as well as in my schoolwork, I'm not in NJ yet!)

The Lord would continue to guide and lead me as I make decisions for my future!
